So what is the right chassis to make this rig out of... Answer: I don't know, I haven't figured it out yet

Possible donor chassis:

bullet

1973-1987 Chevy Std Cab Chassis Pros: Plentiful, I can get one with a used 700R4 nearly anywhere Cons:Didn't come with 4L80E tranny, Chassis would need to be lengthened

bullet

1973-1987 1 Ton Crew Cab Chassis Pros: Longer than necessary so if any wheelbase adjustment would be necessary, it would be a shorten job rather than extend.  Typically available with 1 ton running gear. Cons: Rare. Mostly duallies.  Would have to be sectioned anyway.

bullet

1988-1999 Crew Cab Chassis Pro's: IFS, 454, 4L80E, Cons: Would still need wheelbase adjustment.

bullet

1988-1999 Std Cab Chassis Pro's IFS, 454, 4L80E, Cons: Would still need wheelbase adjustment.

bullet

1988-1999 Extended Cab Chassis Pro's IFS, 454, 4L80E, Cons: Would still need wheelbase adjustment.

Based on all of this above, I am leaning toward trying to find wrecked 1992 or newer3/4 or one ton 454 std cab with a 4L80E tranny, and all of the bells and whistles (air, cruise, tilt, locks, windows, etc)
