Breath of Life spell: (Cleric Level 7 Prayer) Syntax: cast 'breath of life' Eldritch powers and divine prayers empower the cleric to breathe life into a tiny form. This spark of life proves far too minor to reanimate large beings, such as player characters, but is generally sufficient to reanimate small beings, such as newts or familiars. (Min Mana = 50) The origins of this spell remain shrouded in mystery. Rumors ascribe it to the emergence of the budding healing abilities of the foul branch of magic known as Newtomancy. Note that this spell only has the power to affect one target per casting, and selects the most recently deposited corpse which it can, if any. Thus, if you seek to target the spell, clear up excess dead corpses, or carry the corpse of your Familiar to another place, to restore life to it in peace. This spell only targets corpses on the ground, not in someone's inventory. If the being so restored to life was someone's familiar, and their Master yet remains in the Vulpine Realms (still logged in to Fox MUD), the link between Master and Familiar will be reestablished when life is breathed back into the familiar. Note that if the Master already has gained a new familiar, the prior link will superceed the newer Familiar link when the former Familiar is restored to life. The strain of dying does even affect familiars. They will lose about 5% of the experience they had when they died (5% is 1/20th). The Sacred Order provides scrolls of this spell for those not yet able to cast it themselves, for a small donation to the church.
